Cool Ways to Shave
Every single man out there is going to have to shave. It’s just something that needs to be done and is expected of you. I’ve noticed that most men don’t really experiment much when it comes to the way that they shave. They don’t seem to try new things and just overall experiment with the way they do things. Typically they’ll just do what their father taught them and that’s about it. For most men, that means you use the disposable razor. It’s completely fine to use, but there are different ways of shaving and I want to share a few with you.
Electric Shaver
I think this is one of the most under rated ways of shaving. The big reason most men don’t use it is that it has a very bad reputation. In the 90′s, the market was just getting the very first electric razors. They had very nice marketing and features, but they didn’t live up to what they claimed. The shaves weren’t that close. You would nick and cut your face more than with a disposable razor. It didn’t really build happy customers.
It’s been many years since they first came out. Technology has advanced greatly to the point where you can get a close shave without worrying about cutting yourself. The best electric shavers have some sort of foil technology. This is a component designed to lift the hair up. The old electric razors would push the hair down as you went across your face, resulting in poor results. The foil acts as a net that lifts the hair up, so the blades can easily cut the hair. The foil also acts as a barrier between your skin and the razor blades. It’s actually quite difficult to cut your face with this type of technology.
I think you should give it a try. I know it’s more expensive up front, but you don’t have to buy expensive disposable razor heads like you get with Gillette.
Cowboy Shaving
This is something that is still quite popular with people. It’s a little more dangerous and requires a better technique, but the shaves are very close and it’s actually quite cheap to do. What is a cowboy really using? Essentially you see them stick a brush in a tin can and lather up their face. This lather is known as shaving soap. Depending on the situation you probably seen the cowboy shave with just a long razor or something known as a safety razor. I wouldn’t try to use the long razor as you have to be quite skilled at it. A safety razor is essentially the same thing, except that it limits the angle of the razor blade to a safe range.
Obviously using razor blades is dangerous. They’re sharp and they will cut you. But if you take your time and practice it can be a great shaving experience. As the blade cuts through your facial hair it is actually quite loud. It’s a unique shaving experience to say the least. If you’re a little more daring it is something definitely worth trying out. Just make sure you use shaving soap and brush because they go hand and hand with this old shaving method.
